As of September 30, 2014, employers with over 50 employees operating within the Bay Area must offer commuter benefits to their employees. There are several ways that an employer can offer these benefits, such as by providing transit passes/commuter checks or by excluding transit or vanpool costs (up to $230) from taxable income. For more information on how to register, employers can visit MTC’s Commuter Benefits site here. MTC’s Commuter Benefits Program
WestCAT is able to accept commuter benefit cards such as those issued by Commuter Check, TranBen, and WageWorks. At this time, we do not accept credit cards online or by mail order using these benefit cards. We can complete these transactions at our office here in Pinole at 601 Walter Avenue.
